FAQs
What should I expect during my first visit?
1
Your first visit begins with an in-depth discussion of your concerns, symptoms, and health history, followed by a thorough pulse reading to help identify the root cause of what you're experiencing. From there, your treatment will include acupuncture, and depending on your needs, cupping or gua sha. If appropriate, I'll also recommend an herbal formula to support your treatment between visits.
Does acupuncture hurt?
2
The sensation from needle insertion varies from person to person, but the needles themselves are extremely thin and solid, often described as only slightly larger than a strand of human hair. Needling is typically a painless experience, and any initial sensation, such as a brief sting upon insertion, usually dissipates quickly once the needle is fully placed.
What should I wear to my first appointment?
3
Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing is best for your appointment. This allows for ease of movement and gives easy access to different areas of the body where needles may be placed.
Do you accept insurance?
4
While I don't accept insurance directly, I'm happy to provide you with a superbill, an itemized receipt you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement, depending on your plan's coverage for acupuncture.
